Mistakes that cost money in your e-shop

2 minutes to read

Nowadays, e-shops are constantly growing. This is because they have particular momentum, as most people choose to do their shopping online. An e-shop has many positives, however there are mistakes that cost money to your e-shop.

Web Expert will inform you about this, so that you can avoid them if you are now starting to create your e-shop. But of course the article also applies to you who already have an e-shop, so you can correct any mistakes.

#1 You don’t show that you know your products well

The first and biggest mistake is to have no descriptions on your products or to have them be too short. It is good that all your products have as much detail as possible. This will lead the customer more easily and quickly to a purchase, as he will have received all the information he needs. He will feel confident about both the product he chooses and the seller.

#2 You are using low quality photos

The photo on a product is the key to selling it instantly. The photos should have a very good resolution and not blur. The colors should be correct, so that when the customer receives his parcel, the product will be as he saw it in your e-shop. In general, the photos should represent the product that the customer will receive and highlight every detail.

#3 You don’t know the movements of customers inside your e-shop

There are many tools through which you can control the movements of users visiting your e-shop. This way you will know what keeps customers and drives them to buy, but also what drives them to leave. In a survey carried out in an e-shop, it was found that customers were leaving, because many pop up windows appeared to them and they could not close them.

#4 You’re not making the most of phone orders

There is a very large percentage of customers who choose to view the products online, but still wish to complete their order over the phone. So the call center should be staffed by the right people. Not only should they be polite, but they should also have sales experience, so that if, for example, a product that a customer chose is not available, they can suggest a similar one to serve them, but also to win a sale.

#5 You’re not getting the most out of ads

There are now tons of social media that offer you the ability to advertise. The more ads you do, the more you will be known, as you will be appearing to a wider audience. Of course the most important thing about this is that you will know exactly how much you spent, but also how much an ad brought you back. This also applies to Facebook, Instagram, and Google ads.

#6 You are not taking advantage of the abandoned card

The abandoned card is the abandoned cart, i.e. the cart filled by a customer, but nevertheless “gave up” and did not complete his order. What are you going to do about it? Prepare an email reminding the customer that they have a cart waiting for them. So it is very likely that this customer will remember the products they selected and complete their purchase.

#7 Copy your competitors

A very big mistake that many e-shops make is to “copy” their competitors. This is a wrong tactic as you don’t initially know if they are as successful as they seem and you also don’t know their strategy. What you have to do is create your own marketing plan according to your own data.

So try to avoid these mistakes that cost money in your e-shop and follow the advice offered by Web Expert. You will see a huge change in your sales and you will definitely win.
