Alpha Bank WooCommerce Payment Gateway (Nexi) allows you to accept online payments by credit, debit or prepaid card, with or without variable installments. It also integrates IRIS service in order to accept IRIS payments through Alpha Bank. For reasons of adaptability, the two payment gateways are displayed separately and can be activated and deactivated independently.

The plugin is up to date and compatible with the latest requirements of Alpha Bank, regarding the 3DS version 2 electronic transaction certification process.

To start accepting payments through Alpha Bank, you will need to apply for an online card charge and initiate e-commerce at an Alpha Bank branch. After signing certain contracts, you will receive technical instructions and interface details, which you will use to set up the Alpha Bank WooCommerce Payment Gateway (Nexi) plugin properly. As long as you complete the tests that will be requested, Alpha Bank will activate your account and you will start accepting payments.

For the IRIS service it is required to make a separate application to Alpha Bank in order for the appropriate actions to join DIAS. To start accepting payments through the IRIS service, you must request the activation of the IRIS service for e-commerce at a branch of the bank you cooperate with.

The payment gateway uses the redirection method, where the user is redirected from your online store to the Alpha Bank payment page to make the payment. Once the payment is made, the customer returns to the online store and the order is updated.

Attention! The IRIS service of the plugin is compatible with Alpha Bank and only with Nexi’s Documentation, which is not connected to DIAS. If the bank has sent you the new Documentation for the interface through DIAS you will need to purchase the Web Expert IRIS Payments for WooCommerce.

How to install a payment gateway?

Setting up a payment gateway is a very simple process. First, you need to download the plugin from the Web Expert membership area and save it to your computer. Then, on your website, from the WordPress admin area, go to “Plugins>Add New Plugin” and select “Upload Plugin”. Finally, you select the file you saved on your computer and select “Install Now”. For more information look up the corresponding README file that comes with the plugin or consult the plugin’s documentation.

Are installments supported?

Alpha Bank WooCommerce Payment Gateway (Nexi) supports installments. However, the number of these, as well as the type (interest-bearing) are determined by the bank.

How do I make test transactions for card payments?

You can either refer to the bank’s user manual and perform the test transactions or consult the detailed instructions we offer in the plugin’s documentation.

How can I make the test transaction for IRIS payments?

In the payment gateway of IRIS you will fill in the Seller ID that the bank send you. Then you go to your website and place a new order with a test product. You complete the test order by selecting the IRIS payment gateway as payment method. You can only choose the logo of the bank you would use to complete your payment. For more information you can refer to the plugin’s documentation.

What can I do if I get an invalid license while I have entered it correctly?

First, you can try to remove the license key from the plugin settings, select save settings, and then enter it again.

In the event that the server that serves you blocks the communication to webexpert.gr, the license check cannot be carried out. You can contact your provider and ask to whitelist our IP addresses: 5.9.116.30 and 5.9.116.27.

What should I do if I get an error message or my orders are stuck in “Payment Pending”? (Regards the cases of previously using other gateways of Alpha Bank)

In case you were using another plugin for payments with Alpha Bank and now you are getting an error, you will need to delete the wp_alphabank_transactions table from PhpMyAdmin. Then you can deactivate and activate again our plugin.

Why do I get the message “Request data is not valid Security error, invalid digest” during payments?

If you receive a digest error, please make sure that you have filled in the MID and Shared Secret fields correctly and without unnecessary spaces. Also, make sure that you carry out the transactions on the domain that you have registered with the bank.

Can I have one of the 2 payment gateways activated?

Of course, you can have either the card payment gateway or IRIS payment activated. You will need to have filled in the MID and Shared Secret in the card payment gateway settings and the Seller ID in the IRIS payment gateway settings. Then you can activate one of the two payment gateways.
